Reviews
“Jenn’s story of her path to alcohol-free living is raw, emotional, and even funny at times. So many of her points hit home. A must read for those struggling or just sober-curious.”
– Victoria Ergas, Travel Industry Sales & Marketing Leader
“Jenn beautifully and transparently illustrates how easily alcohol can become the social lubricant for Highly Sensitive People (HSP) who live in a much-too-loud-world. I love how Jenn takes the reader on her personal journey to live alcohol free as an HSP, modeling a different way for her four children.”
– Peggi Cooney, Author of This Side of Alcohol
“Guiding women to embrace sobriety with a ‘GET TO’ mindset has allowed me to witness remarkable transformations. Jenn’s journey to sobriety hasn’t been easy, and her awareness from a people-pleasing perfectionist to turning up the volume in her gut to pursue her innermost passions is just a testament of her immense personal growth and transformation. Jenn doesn’t shy away from the difficult moments or the painful memories. Instead, she confronts them head-on, showing readers that it’s possible to find strength, healing and gratitude, even in the darkest of times. I highly recommend Out of the Fog to anyone who is sober curious or who simply needs a reminder that no matter what’s happened in the past, it’s never too late to take a U-Turn in your life. Jenn is truly a lighthouse!”

About the Author

Jenn Burton is a mom of four who was born and raised in Southern California. Jenn has been married to her husband, Nick, for 14 years, and has spent the last couple of decades working in Human Resources. Her dream as a kid was to be a writer or journalist living in New York City, and she earned her Master’s degree in American Studies from Cal State University, Fullerton.
Growing up a perfectionist and struggling with self-injury, depression and anxiety starting in her teen years, Jenn’s journey to sobriety hasn’t been easy, but it’s been 100% worth it. Learning to go against the “good girl” mentality of being brought up in a culture that teaches girls to suppress their strengths and highlights their weaknesses, Jenn is now focused on pursuing a life full of authenticity, purpose and passion.
When she’s not working, reading, or writing on her blog, you can find Jenn on the sidelines of her kids’ various sports and school activities. She revels in being a “crazy sports mom,” and enjoys occasional lunch or breakfast dates with her husband while the kids are in school.
